Engraved Mini Wilderness
I think there are more Loveless Big Bears than Mini Wilderness knives. These knives are a great version of the larger Wilderness, which is very, very hard to find. Ron Skaggs engraves this one; I don’t think he is engraving any more knives nowadays. This has nice gold in the bolster, with some of the most beautiful dark figured Ironwood. The Ironwood Loveless was getting in the 90s was from “Sandy,” and it was usually museum-grade, if there is such a thing. It is shop #836, and the other unengraved is #838. I am selling the Skaggs engraved for a close friend and collector. I like the little version of the signature logo. This is also a 4 1/2” blade, and the Ironwood is a high slick polish that looks amazing. If this were a gun stock, you would buy it just because of the look.
Skaggs will never repeat a knife like this. So this sets it off as a one-of-a-kind Loveless Mini Wilderness—a very handsome knife, as Al William would say. You never really own a Loveless; you just are the caretaker for the next generation. These knives have had a stronger market over the past 72 years that has not yet been matched. AG Russell told us 40 years ago that there is Loveless, then everybody else; nobody has had such a long run of going up every single year since Loveless started making knives 72 years ago. Loveless is the Ferrari of the knife world, and neither one was ever cheap.
The price is only $15,500 for the whole kit, and it comes with gold engraving and a signed sheath.
Mint condition and ready to go to a crown spot in your collection. Everyone needs a Loveless in their collection. The beautiful “S” grind in the blade really sets it apart from most makers.
