Semi Skinner
This is a very early Riverside Semi Skinner, as it still has the Lawndale Stamp on the sheath. See how it just says “R.W. Loveless Maker”, this was before he changed to the Riverside logo on the sheath. Steve Johnson said that when he and Bob moved from Lawndale in 1974 to Riverside, they still used the sheath stamp that they had in Lawndale.
This is pretty slick. I’m pretty sure Steve Johnson ground the blade and you can see the grind line drops down a bit as you look above the “L” in Loveless going back to the guard. We asked Steve why he did this and he said “In case I make a mistake” he left some room. But pretty sure it is a Steve grind from 1974, the last year he worked with Bob and the first year for Riverside logo. So this is a true bit of History. Shop #866 and the blade is 3 3/4” all nickel silver bolster, two tone pins and solder.
